As if protecting our skin from the sun's harmful UV rays isn't enough, there are two more things that we should be cautious about if we want to protect our skin: soap and water.

Do you realize that you can damage your skin by using harsh soaps and hurting the texture of your skin by leaving it in water for too long? In olden times, we used really harsh soaps made from lye. It wasn't made so that the body smelled good as it was clean, but over time it caused too many problems with people's skin that they started to find better ways to make soap.

There is still some harsh soap out there today, but we have come out with many kinds of liquid soaps that will rinse off easier and that don't leave a layer of soap scum on your skin. This layer of soap scum can play havoc on the pores of your skin, causing them to become plugged, and this will cause you to develop pimples. Soap scum and too much sun are both dangerous to our skin, as they will both dry out our skin.

If you stay in water for too long, this isn't good for your skin either as this will flood the pores of your skin, causing them to develop small tears in the skin that might allow germs free reign to enter your body. If you do this, you might want to find a really good body lotion to put on your skin to help prevent the loss of your normal body water levels.

These water levels must be kept, or it will cause many signs of damage to your insides as well as your outside. Leaving soap scum on your body is one of the worst things to do to your skin, mainly your face, as this will most definitely cause your face to develop pimples. In most cases, it is best not to use soap on your face but to use plain water with a circular motion on your face a couple of times a day, as this will help in the removal of most dirt and grease. If you go to a spa, they will put a hot towel over your face as to help the pores on your face to open up and will help remove all impurities out of your skin.

This kind of water damage really can't be fixed, but you can do all kinds of thing to help prevent it from happening in the first place. We need to protect our bodies from everyday life and the tolls that it will be subject to.
